Abstract:

This dataset shows the horizontal survey control points (latitude and longitude in NAD83) on Pohnpei. The points were established by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - National Geodetic Survey (NGS) between 2011 and 2012 using a high-accuracy Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). It was formatted for GIS by the University of Guam. Note that the orthometric height is GPS-derived and not as accurate as the leveled benchmarks.

Purpose: To show the horizontal survey control points on Pohnpei.

The dataset is included in the Digital Atlas of Micronesia, module Pohnpei, created by Island Research & Education Initiative (iREi), in collaboration with Water and Environmental Research Institute of the Western Pacific (WERI) University of Guam and partial funding from United States Geological Survey (USGS), under WRRI 104-B Program, project # 2016GU302B.
